Little Eva's baby blessing

Our sweet little Eva was blessed yesterday, and it was wonderful. the spirit was so strong, i couldnt help but shed a tear. I love the little family that i have and cant imagine a more perfect world. Its ridiculous how one thing can change your life completely. If you would have asked me five years ago where i would be now, it sure as heck would not have been blessing my second baby in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Iwould probably say" um... in school or working or something, i dont know." I was sooooo lost. seriously. I had no goals, nothing to look forward to. Its sad really, to not have anything to set your mind on. To not have an idea of what you want in life. That was me. But now, I have everything i couldnt even dream of. i have everything because i was baptized. Life couldnt be any sweeter. I love the gospel, i love the church, and i love my family! Blessing Eva yesterday was a spiritual high i needed, and hadn't had in a long time. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. We love you all too much.

1 month

Holy cow! I cant believe its already been one whole month since little Eva was born. We are just absolutely loving her. Yes, its hard, and im always complaining, but its soo much fun to have a new baby in the house. We waited so long to have her and now shes here and growing so fast. Last Drs. visit she weighed 9lbs. 14 oz. so she is right on track. She is a little colicy, but its nothing the good ol binky cant take care of. That thing is a life saver! Our nights are getting better, sorta. She sleeps for a good 4-6 hours, but she wont go to bed til midnite. Papa's been taking that shift (thanks dad). So we're getting some rest.
Riley LOVES her little sister! A little too much if you ask me. She's like Elmyra from Animaniacs, she wants to hug her, and kiss her, and squish her at the same time. With all the love, theres also a tinge of jeolousy. Every day i have to keep a close eye on her because she'll smack her in the head or squash her. Today she tried to step on her. Oh my children. I've had to send her to her room a few times for not being nice to little sister. She cries, but i think she's learning.
Its been pretty crazy around here, but im enjoying it. Its definately not easy being a parent, but its the most rewarding job ever. You just have to take it one day at a time.

Eva Update

Just a little update on little Miss Eva. She is doing great. She's gained a pound and a half now weighing 8.5lbs. her jaundice is completely gone and doesnt look yellow anymore. her tear ducts are a little plugged so she has a little eye infection, but its getting better. She doesnt know how to latch on yet and we've talked to over three lactation consultant, all saying just wait, so we are
:( In the meantime, mommy is taking a beating but hanging on like a trooper. Evas had a bit of diahrea but is getting better, her little toosh is healing, and shes not as colicy anymore ( a few nights ago it was really bad). Over all, shes doing great. we've had a few bumps in the road but we've managed to get through.
A big thank you to grandmas' and everyone who has been able to help out with dinner and playdates for Riley. Its really been a blessing to have so many people around to help out. We love you guys!

Welcome Home Eva!

She's here!!! Can you believe it. Eva Cecilia Green was born on May 21st at 2pm, 7lbs. 6 oz. and 19 inches long. She is a beautiful healthy baby girl and we are soo in love with her. She was born via c-section. We tried to have a normal delivery but she just wasnt progressing and it was getting pretty intense, so it was decided that a c-section would be the best thing to do. Our recovery has been a pretty rough one, but it has been well worth it! I absolutely love my sweet little girl. I feel like we are truely a family now. A family of four, with two beautiful girls and the most amazing and supportive husband in the world. The nurses were all so impressed with James and how helpful he was, and still is. I've been so blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life; he has given me the world.

Riley's Journal

Yesterday mom and dad took me to Kohl's. Mom needed new stretchy pants since my little sister is growing so fast. It's fun riding around in the Kohl's cart. I did some business in my diaper which usually isn't a big deal but mom forgot my diaper bag. She changed me in the restroom and decided to chance it, letting me go commando style to the register. Well sorry to say, but I just had way too much juice and had to soak my pants the the cart I was sitting in. My parents were pretty embarrased but maybe they'll remember my supplies next time. Lesson learned.

Youth Conference 2009

This year James and I volunteered to be youth conference parents. Being a convert to the church, i really didnt know what to expect; i'd never gone to youth conference before. My understanding was you have kids stay the night at your house, you feed them, share a spiritual message, and drop them off at their activity. simple enough. Little did i know you had to actually go to the activities with them and stay there all day, and that our little spriritual message was really a full devotional keeping us up till midnight! It was just more than i expected, but let me tell ya, it was a blast. We had 5 boys, all who got along great. they sang in the car (pokemon theme song, and the banana boat song (techno version) ..lol), jammed in our band room, and played halo 2 in they're down time. Not only that, while other kids were off being wall flowers and socializing, our kids were working hard to help out in the service project. I was one proud mama! It was soo sweet to see the youth of this church come together to serve others and share in the spirit. it was an amazing experience, and im glad we took part in it. We''ll definately do it again, i dont know when (considering we keep making babies), but for sure in the future.

3 Year Anniversary!!

Yesterday James and I celebrated our 3 yr. anniversary. Time has gone by soo fast. I cant believe its already been 3yrs. and we have a 1 and half year old and another on the way. I would never have imagined that my life would be so amazing! We didnt do anything big or have a super romantic evening. We just hung out together all day; took riley to the library for story time, went shopping for a small anniversary present, had dinner, and watched a movie. But it was the best time ever. I'm absolutely and completely in love with my husband. He is the best man I've ever known. If you know James, you know that he is funny, rediculously talented, smart, whitty, super friendly, and sooooo handsome. Not only that, but he is a strong priesthood holder, and truely the hardest worker I've ever meet. He's the love of my life, and the best dada any kid could have. I'm the luckiest girl in the world!!
